Born in Bari, Giorgio Funaro is a new media artist who has been based in Milan since 2015. Having always been interested in architectural design, he learned the basics in high school and then went on to graduate from NABA in 2019, studying Graphic Design & Art Direction. During university he notes a growing affection towards new technologies and showed a talent for designing audio-visual installations. He then made his mark in this field by creating the first “Pulse” installation that was completed under the guise of an academic thesis.
Movement, light and space are the key elements on which he bases his designs. They are mostly immersive and give the spectator the sensation of being physically and emotionally inside the works themselves.
His goal is to create surreal environments that push the observer towards feelings of alienation; generated by unusual but effective visuals.
